GAF and National Nail Join Forces

GAF is one of the largest shingle and roofing product manufacturer in the United States, National Nail is one of the leading manufacturers in nails and nailing technology. It’s not difficult to figure out that the two brands would easily get together and a partnership has now come to fruition. GAF will add National Nail’s Stinger brand of cap fastening equipment to its branded “Tools4Success” contractor and homeowner guide. The Tools4Success Guide is a catalogue of GAF’s preferred vendors. The Guide builds vendor partnerships to help bring its certified installers better products and better deals.

GAF is excited about their latest partnership.  “Vendor partner relationships are a critical part of our CCP offering to assist our contractors in building their businesses and increasing jobsite efficiencies,” said Jim Slauson, vice president of GAF Certification Program and Services. “We are pleased to add National Nail’s STINGER® brand to our Tools4Success vendor portfolio to get the best-quality products into their hands.”

Stinger tools are 50% faster than applying plasticaps and other fasteners by hand and contributes to a better overall covering. Stinger maintains that its tool help keeps roofers safer since it allows them to always maintain at least three-point contact with the roof. Stinger also believes their fasteners create more secure seals and can reduce roof leaks associated with traditional tacking, stapling, or nailing. Stinger is also excited about the benefits that come with the GAF partnership.

“We are thrilled to have National Nail’s STINGER® brand chosen as a GAF preferred vendor,” said Scott Baker, CEO, National Nail. “The STINGER® CN100 cap fastening system is a faster, safer, and lower-cost option to protect against moisture and high winds. The STINGER® caps create a better hold and prevent tearing and blow off of the underlayment. It’s an honor to be able to share this technology with the elite network of GAF factory-certified contractors.”

Contractors certified by GAF may be able to get unique promotions and discounts for Stinger products. Roofing companies are encouraged to contact their GAF reps to see what different vendor partnerships are available. To get more information about the two brands you can visit or
